Dr. Eric Hahn is more than just a MacLellan Ambassador—he’s a friend, a colleague in the shop, and an integral part of our craft here in Zebulon. Over the past few years, Eric has worked closely with Roddy to design and create a set of bagpipes that reflects a lifetime of musical experiences.

This set is more than an instrument; it’s a personal story:
🎶 The Celtic Horse engraving honors his first exposure to Irish music—the Chieftains’ The Ballad of the Irish Horse.
🎶 Sustainable Cocobolo was chosen for its deep, rich color, accented with African Blackwood as a nod to his first set of pipes.
🎶 Moose antler maintains the commitment to all-natural materials.
🎶 Sterling silver ferrules, hand-formed and engraved by Roddy MacLellan, tie everything together in a truly stunning way.
Beyond the craftsmanship, what makes this journey even more special is Eric’s return to competitive piping. After stepping away from the pipes for a few years, MacLellan’s move to Zebulon rekindled his passion. Now, he’s back competing in Grade 3 with Wake & District, playing alongside his wife Eva, a tenor drummer in the band.
Eric, your dedication to the music, the craft, and the community is inspiring. Thank you, Roddy, for bringing this vision to life. We can’t wait to hear the tunes this incredible set will produce for years to come.
